Home Display is a private dashboard used within a single household. This policy explains what information it uses and how.
With the household owner's consent, the app reads data from the owner's own Google Nest thermostat through Google's Smart Device Management API: the thermostat's name, current temperature, humidity, mode, heating or cooling status and target temperature. It can also change the target temperature and mode when the owner asks it to from the display.
This information is used only to show the thermostat's state and to send the owner's requested adjustments back to the thermostat. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling or any other purpose.
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The owner can revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions or through the Nest device sharing settings. Revoking access stops all data collection, and deleting the stored authorization token removes everything the app holds.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
